Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has openly admitted to using juju traditional spiritual powers to secure his victory over rapper Speed Darlington in their recent celebrity boxing match.
The fight, tagged “Chaos in the Rings,” took place on April 18, 2025, at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos. Portable won the match after Speed Darlington broke his arm during the first round and failed to continue into the second round, resulting in a technical knockout.
Following the bout, Speed Darlington claimed that Portable’s victory was not ordinary and hinted at supernatural interference. In a video message shared on his Instagram page, Speed Darlington said, “I don’t know what exactly happened, maybe it was the juju that Portable brought. I wasn’t tired, but my hand got dislocated.”
Reacting to these allegations, Portable did not deny the claims. Instead, he admitted to using juju during the fight and challenged Speed Darlington to also employ similar powers. “I am not a loser, I am a winner. He [Speed Darlington] is saying I used juju. Yes, na juju, go find your own juju,” Portable declared in a video message to his fans, thanking them for their support.
The celebrity boxing match was the climax of a long-standing feud between the two entertainers, which began after Speed Darlington offered Portable ₦500,000 to perform at an event—a fee Portable considered disrespectfully low. The disagreement escalated into heated online exchanges before culminating in the physical showdown.
Portable’s win marks his second victory in celebrity boxing, following a previous win over actor Charles Okocha. The singer has since celebrated his triumph on social media, calling himself the “king of the ring” and promising more success ahead.
Meanwhile, Speed Darlington has expressed frustration over the defeat, alleging bias and tribalism influenced the outcome of the fight. He has also called for a rematch, insisting he was denied a fair chance.
